Meet Babs DeMaio, the owner and designer of 

Her Jewelry Rocks.

My craft journey started with crocheting.  A co-worker crocheted a teddybear which was so adorable, I had to learn how to make one. She taught me patterns on our lunch break and we met a few times at her home.  In no time at all, I crocheted my first and many more teddybears (Thank you Marianne.) Since then, I've crocheted socks, slippers, mittens, hats, baby dresses and more...but for the life of me, I still cannot crochet a simple scarf! 

 Throughout the years, my husband and I have always loved nature and being outdoors.  We often go camping, fishing and hiking. We enjoy quiet activities like relaxing on a beach and sitting by a fire. While doing these things, we always search for interesting looking rocks, stones, sea glass and shells. It's been a hobby to see what we can find in the nature around us. Each item we have found over the years holds a unique memory. After years of collecting things, I figured I should make something that I can wear with these items. That way I can take the memories with me wherever I go and share them with 

my family and friends.

I started creating pendants to wear as necklaces. Wherever I went, people would ask me where I bought them. One of my customers from where I bartend told me I should start a business. He came up with the name "Her Jewelry Rocks" and checked to see if the domain was available. That night when I got home, I purchased the domain and ran with it. Thanks Jon, "damn it!".
